UNEB is pleased to present the awaited 2013 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results. This Examination was conducted smoothly and free from leakage, just as was the case for other examinations whose results have already been released.

REGISTRATION:
In 2013, 116,190 candidates registered for the 2013 examination from 1,710 centres compared to 111,456 candidates  from 1,334 centres in 2012.  This is an increase of  4,734 or 4.2%.
A total of 114,380 candidates appeared for the examination, compared to 109,974 in 2012, an increase of 4,406 candidates (4.0%).  The first cohort of UPOLET students took the examination in 2013. The number registered under the scheme was 27,237 (23.4% of total candidature).
Female registered candidates increased from 43,764 in 2012 to 46,651 in 2013. Females constituted 40.2% of the total number of candidates who took the examination in 2013. Fewer female candidates (1.2 per cent) were absent compared to males (1.8 per cent).

 PERFORMANCE OF CANDIDATES:

The overall performance of candidates in the 2013 UACE examination shows that a very high percentage of candidates, (97.3%), qualified for the award of the UACE, about the same percentage as in 2012. The performance of the year 2013 candidates is not easily comparable to that of 2012. It should be noted that from the 2013 examination the Ministry of Education and Sports issued policy guidelines which limited UACE candidates to registering for not more than three subjects at the principal level. Candidates were also examined in ICT at subsidiary level for the first time. The policy also required those offering science combinations or Economics, but without Mathematics at the principal level, to offer Subsidiary Mathematics. No attempt has been made, therefore, to make these comparisons.
Kindly check the UACE performance statistics from the home page.
